"Its what you do before the season that makes a champion"
We have wrapped up our summertime training and everyone is excited to start the XC season. The athletes have put in 10 weeks of intensive running and covered hundreds of miles. They are fit and ready to race against other schools.
This week we make the transition to school and xc practice in the AFTERNOONS. There are some important dates for all athletes and parents.
It is the start of MANDATORY practice and ATTENDANCE will be taken. IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY BUSY WEEK.
Starting August 19 all absences will need to be cleared through the attendance office by a parent. Remember cross country is a class at NHS and absences are treated like any other course for HS credit. Practice times will be daily from 3pm to 6:00pm; with Saturday practice being required. Missed practices will result in athletes not participating in upcoming races and can lead to a decrease in grade or removal from the sport. If you are going to be part of our team clear off your schedule and make a commitment
MONDAY THERE WILL BE NO PRACTICE. PLEASE TAKE THE FAMILY TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
TUESDAY WE HAVE OUR FIRST PRACTICE AFTER A SCHOOL DAY!!!!
We have a busy first week of school and XC. Saturday we have our first competition this week against Sage Hill, Segerstrom & Woodbridge HS. Athletes who have attended summer practice, who have the proper level of fitness, didn't miss practice in August and are in good standing with the team will compete.
