Another good weekend of racing for Northwood XC. They competed at the Orange County Championships. Many of our runners ran some personal best times on the course and look to continue the improvement these last few weeks of the season. On the boys side the team was lead by Senior Logan Shaw who set a Northwood course record of 15:05. He was the 15th fastest boy in all of Orange County!! Santino Garcia had another fast time with a 15:33 for the 2nd fastest time in school history on the course. He was the 35th fastest overall boy in OC!! For the girls Maia Murthy continues to amaze and was 54th amongst the OC girls with a time of 18:57 which was also good for the 15th overall sophomore. Out of all the teams in Orange County the Boys finished in 23rd place and the girls finished in 41st place. The Boy Athlete of the Week honors go to Harris Dai. Harris had a PR of 17:12 breaking into the Northwood top 7 times at the race. The Girl Athlete of the Week honors go to Shae Muldoon. She ran her fastest time of her freshman season at 23:13. This weekend we race at the MT. SAC Invite. This venue will host the CIF prelims and Finals in November. We are racing our top boys and girls to prepare for the post season. The remaining team will have a longer practice on Friday and prepare for the League Finals race in 2 weeks.
