"The spirit of running is to feel your own pain"- Jorge Pena
The last two weeks of practice have been intense speed training with two Saturday invites at the end of the long weeks. MT SAC Invite was this past Saturday with the NHS XC Teams turning in another workman-like result. Both the boys and girls team raced well to prepare for the upcoming league finals and CIF post season. The hard training is paying off with some fast times. Racing the illustrious hill course at MT SAC gave our top runners the extra challenge they will face in the post season. Fast competition will always entice the NHS runners to bring out their best. The NHS coaching staff is extremely happy with the overall performances of our runners. Lets keep it going!
The Athletes of the Week honors go to Maia Murthy and Kenneth Jin. Maia had a great race at MTSAC and is prepping up for the end of the season PR. On the boys side senior Kenny had a solid race in the varsity division.
This week we gear up with rest and speed training to prepare for the PCL Finals in 10 days. Practice will be daily (M-S) including Saturday. Saturday we will have a practice time at 7am. We need all athletes to mentally prepare for the end of the season and reach for their goals these last few weeks.
Thanks again for your continued support of our program.
